Nus Ghani, the Wealden MP, recently met with representatives from the British Heart Foundation to discuss their work both nationally and in Wealden.
The British Heart Foundation provides vital information and support to people diagnosed with heart conditions, or people who know people who have been diagnosed.
They also play a significant role in educating and teaching valuable potentially life-saving skills in schools. Since 2014, over four million school children have been taught how to do CPR by the British Heart Foundation, saving countless lives. Before their intervention, nearly a third of UK adults didn’t have the confidence to even attempt CPR, putting lives at risks.
Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, said: “The British Heart Foundation do fantastic work providing support and teaching CPR to so many people across the country.
“Heart conditions affect us all and you never know when you or someone close to you might be impacted. The British Heart Foundation have done so much to help alleviate the associated stress, as well as improving the likelihood of survival from a heart attack, simply by improving the availability of CPR.
“They have charity shops in Uckfield and Hailsham which is a great way for Wealden residents to support their invaluable work. I have backed the British Heart Foundation in Wealden for years and would encourage everyone to be generous and show your support.”
