Wealden Heroes

Covid-19 is the most profound societal, economic and public health challenge since the Second World War. I cannot thank Wealden residents enough for their collective efforts over the last few months to fight the pandemic. I know that there are many people in Wealden who have made personal sacrifices to help others. These individuals are our ‘invisible’ heroes and it is important they get the recognition they deserve. “Celebrating Wealden Heroes” is a campaign to extend my thanks and gratitude to Wealden residents for their efforts to overcome this challenge and to celebrate the many acts of kindness and community spirit of Wealden residents throughout the crisis.

The Wealden Hero Awards are kindly supported by Uckfield FM, Kent and Sussex Courier, Sussex Express and Hailsham FM. The Kent and Sussex Courier and the Sussex Express helped me spread the message and followed the stories of our heroes every week. Please see the coverage of the campaign below:
