I am delighted to announce that Spencer Miller has been awarded the Wealden Hero Award this week.
Spencer has received an overwhelming amount of nominations for this tremendous effort to organise support across the community. He has been the driving force behind the “Supporting Crowborough” movement, the coronavirus community support group in Crowborough.
The group has been coordinating volunteers offering support for the community and helping hundreds of people along the way. Volunteers have been offering help with getting essential shopping and picking-up prescriptions, so that people in high-risk groups who are self-isolating do not need to go into supermarkets or visit pharmacies themselves. Volunteers from Supporting Crowborough are also there if people feel lonely and would simply like a chat.
You can be put in touch with the relevant coordinator for your area of Crowborough by using a telephone helpline 01892 317151, between 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday. Alternatively, you can email [email protected].
Many thanks and congratulations to Spencer! Your determination and ambition have brought together a wonderful project and helped many throughout the pandemic.
The Wealden Hero Awards are kindly supported by Uckfield FM, Kent and Sussex Courier, Sussex Express and Hailsham FM.
