Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has welcomed the results of a recent study on crime in England and Wales, which named the constituency the second safest place to live.
A study conducted by security experts Get Licensed (available here) concluded that Wealden has only 15.4 violent crimes per 10,000 residents, coming second behind Richmond Upon Thames for local safety.
Wealden was also highlighted in a previous study of 2022 data by Hiatt Hardware (available here), where it was ranked fourth safest area in the country for robberies, break-ins and vehicle offences.
Nusrat Ghani said: “This is fantastic news for Wealden, and I'm grateful to all our local police teams who continue working to ensure that Wealden residents feel safe in their communities. I am in regular contact with Sussex Police, Wealden Rural Crime Team and the Wealden Neighbourhood Policing Team for updates and to raise individual cases of impacted residents and I'm pleased that that incidence of crime in the constituency continues to remain low."
